Exports and downloads
How users export reviewed data, download source or evidence files, and choose the right output format for the right stage of the AssureGrid workflow.
Overview
AssureGrid supports multiple kinds of exports and downloads because users interact with different types of information at different stages of the audit lifecycle. Some actions return source documents or evidence files, some export structured operational data for offline review, and some generate formal deliverables such as workpapers or final reports.
The purpose of this page is to help users understand what each output represents, when to use it, and what should be confirmed before downloading. Choosing the correct output type matters because a working export, an evidence file bundle, an Excel workpaper, and a final PDF report are intended for different audiences and different points in the workflow.
Common export and download types
Source document downloads
Some pages allow users to download source inputs used by the platform, such as the Audit Memo, RCM, or Issue Log. These are especially useful during Audit Report Generation setup, where users may want to verify the exact source material feeding the downstream report process.
Inventory exports
In Control Inventory, users can export generated or optimized inventory outputs after review. These exports support offline review, team sharing, and preservation of the current reviewed table state.
Planning step downloads
In Audit Planning, users can download artifacts such as the RCM, test steps, evidence list, and walkthrough questions. These downloads support review and traceability at each stage of planning.
Refinement downloads
In Data Refinements, users can download reviewed refinement outputs after the original-versus-suggested review is complete and the user has already saved the intended decisions.
Evidence downloads
In Evidence Management, users may download individual evidence files or multiple selected evidence files from the same control folder. These downloads support offline review, file sharing where allowed, and retention of supporting audit artifacts.
Workpaper export
In Audit Execution, the export action produces a spreadsheet-based workpaper output using the configured Excel template. This output is intended for structured execution documentation and is not the same as the final report format.
Issue log download
In Issue Management, users can download the issue table or issue output for offline review, sharing, or reporting preparation.
Final report PDF
In Audit Report Generation, the final download action exports the report as a PDF. This is the formal reporting output intended for final presentation or distribution.
| Module | Typical output | Format / type | Primary use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Control Inventory | Reviewed generated or optimized inventory | Structured export | Offline review and sharing |
| Audit Planning | Current planning step output | Structured download | Step-by-step review and traceability |
| Data Refinements | Reviewed refinement output | Structured download | Post-review comparison and handoff |
| Evidence Management | Single or bulk evidence files | Direct file download | Artifact retrieval and sharing |
| Audit Execution | Workpaper export | Excel output | Execution documentation |
| Issue Management | Issue log or issue output | Structured download | Review and reporting prep |
| Audit Report Generation | Final report | Formal final distribution |
Before you export or download
Before downloading any output, users should confirm that the platform has finished processing and that the visible state on screen is the one they intend to preserve. Downloads reflect the current saved state; they do not independently confirm that the stage is complete or formally attested.
-
The content has finished processing and any background work has completed.
-
The visible version on screen is the intended version to export.
-
Recent edits or approvals are already saved.
-
Any AI suggestions have been reviewed and approved before save where applicable.
-
The correct workspace, team, or engagement context is selected.
Version-sensitive downloads
Version awareness matters most in Audit Report Generation. If the wrong version is active, or if a restore action was used recently, the downloaded PDF may not match expectations. Before downloading the final report, users should confirm which version is active, whether the visible report reflects the desired final state, and whether any restoration or editing actions changed the output that will be generated.
Version check reminder Use extra care before downloading the final report PDF. A PDF download captures the active visible report version, not an abstract notion of the latest draft. If the wrong version is active, the downloaded file may still be technically correct but operationally wrong for distribution.
